Fellow Sawgrass Members,
Today is Labor Day. This is a National Holiday to celebrate and support working people and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
We should use the day to think about the workers who serve us at our Club. We all love the Club, but it would be an empty shell without the staff to make it fun and enjoyable. So please celebrate them.
As you know our Foundation was established to support our staff. With your generosity we have helped them through the shutdown, and now we have 9 active candidates for educational scholarships to them or members of their immediate family. This opportunity is seen as a terrific support that makes Sawgrass CC a special place to work.
Our first candidate was Lori Li, who works in F&B. She is studying nursing ay FCCJ. Her smile stretched from ear to ear when she said, “I am so thankful to all our wonderful members for supporting me. Nowhere else has ever done something like this for me before. I am so appreciative.”
